In the next few years, watch the forward planning of the U.S. Navy
as the new JSF Aircraft comes on line. It is going to change the
face of how the Navy does its carriers in the future. It is very possible the new carriers will be much smaller, less costly to sustain in operation, and the Marines could have a significantly larger role in Air type operations. Watch the "English" as they have already made vast advances in their combat operations with the Harrier, and the JSF will be a College PHD in capabilities compared to what the Harrier can do today. It might be safe to say, a JSF
or multiple JSF's could deploy on ships not to much bigger than a Cochrane?
