the day after OPPE in Yoko, maybe '85? we were just pulling into port and shutting down when we were tasked to go back to sea and take a civilian off an ocean going tug who was suffering from asthma with no oxygen. I had 1 and 2 engine rooms, and called all the guys back to the ship that I could find. Not too happy, but once I found them, they showed up. We got u/w with some serious nasty weather, making turns for 20 kt but only making about 10 thru the water, heavy seas, high winds, rain/rain/rain. We finally got to the tug, and the guy made a miraculous recovery. Or he decided against a transfer in the bad weather, either way we got the shaft, and had a miserable ride to boot. Ask John, see if he remembers!

For the rest of you, Larry and I discussed this on the phone. He made it a point to MAKE me remember especially the fact that he called ME back to the ship. I think that this is one of those memories that you subconciously block....But NOOOOOOO you had to go and drag it out of me.
